My 6-year-old is studying habitats, so we've read this book a number of times, as well as reading other books. This is a non-fiction genre, but it is such a fun picture book! Each habitat has 4 pages. The first two pages show the overall habitat, and you see little bits and pieces of the animals--a leg, a tail, a beak--and have to try to guess what sort of animal it is. The next two pages show the animals in those same positions and give a description about each animal. My daughter is so thrilled with this book that she chatters so much I can barely get a chance to read the descriptions to her.
I used this to teach a lesson about habitats in a second grade class and the kids loved it. SO does my 5 year old son
The pictures are truly artistic - they have beautiful color and texture. My grandchildren enjoy looking for the partially hidden animals on a page and then turning the page to see what the entire animal looks like.

My 3-year-old son loves this book! He learned to name almost all of the animals and had fun drawing them. He even wants me to "google" images so he can see real pictures of the animals in the book.
Very clever book! Good for a game of "I spy" with just enough real information mixed in
A delight to explore with my 5 year old. And something he spends time looking at on his own as well! So many animals to find!
I like the book and the kids really liked it too in the classroom. They learned the word camouflaged. Would have been nice to hear what a Kookaburra really sounds like while pushing a button.
