Kendra Michaels is a thoroughly annoying, self-righteous and, quite frankly, unbelievable protagonist. The premise is that she is exceptionally smart and intuitive because she was blind until the age of 19 so she was able to hone her remaining senses and still continues to use them ten years later. How, then, can she make such stupid and ridiculous decisions and while doing so, be such a heinous bitch to everybody who loves her? I'm finished with this series.
Love Iris Johansen books and the Kendra Michaels series are always interesting to read. Some twists in this one and I finished the book in 2 days. I kept picking it up every chance I got and couldn't wait to see exactly how it would end. One small thing is the development of the Kendra character: she is sometimes annoying and self-righteous. The fact that she instantly picks up on the littlest clue, due to her history of blindness, is very interesting. However, the cops are colored as very dim-witted when ever she is around. It's a little thing and didn't really take away from the story, for me.
It was a great book. She has created such wonderful characters. The story was just great and just kept getting better. Hope you write another one with the same characters. I also love the ones you write about Eve and her family. Thank you all for a wonderful and great book Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen. Deborah
I loved this book. ! I loved Jessie's character. I couldn't put the book down, even when I was at work . Iris Johansson always keeps me wanting more. I hope she writes another book with Lynch in it .
One wonders about the advances in medical research after reading this book. Knowing that quite a lot of the information in this book is based on actual advances in medicine, is mind boggling. However, coupled with this is also the downside - the greed that goes hand in hand with creating something that others desperately need. Once again the Johansens have written a nail biting story that resonates. Kendra Michaels gets her own dangerous story after helping Eve Duncan in her series. This is a gritty, consuming read that secures both Johansens' place at the top of mystery writing list.
Iris Johansson is one of my favorite writers, whether she is co-writing with her son or not, and the Kendra Michaels character is a favorite of mine too. So she wrote this one just for me! Ha! A great, fast moving read! I did catch a few story errors or contradictions, but there’s rarely a book like this that doesn’t have a few. Good, fun, fast moving read!
I absolutely loved the book. Kept me on the edge of my seat several times. Had to put it down for a day or so, life intervened but I was back at it as quickly as I could get to it. Would love to see more each year, but understand it takes time to make a thriller like these books, so would rather have the quality.Keep up the great work!!!
