I like the little bit of Bigfoot lore that was included, including the origin of the name and they way the creature is seen and what they are called in a variety of cultures, to make the hunt more interesting to young readers. There is also a good amount of information and history about each of the cities that bigfoot is hiding in throughout this book. I like the inclusions of real photographs from the locations, as well as the seek and find illustrations. I think many young readers will skip over the informational bits and just to the bigfoot hunts, but I feel like some will take the time to read, and any chance for them to continue learning I will fully support. Some of the seek and finds were challenging, but in a good way. I like to have various activity books on hand for when I am watching TV or listening to the radio and don't want to fully concentrate on the TV or radio. One of the things I bought recently to have on hand is the "Bigfoot Goes On Vacation: A Spectacular Seek and Find Challenge For All Ages." It's so much fun - and as an adult, I appreciate everything about it.This book is hardcover, making it sturdier than most softcover books. The fact that it is hardcover makes it easier to balance on my lap or lay flat on a tray table. The book contains 10 big vacation-themed puzzles, with many things to find in each puzzle. For example, the "Bigfoot Visits Yellowstone" puzzle has you finding one Bigfoot, one of his "legendary footprints", 11 passing elks, 5 park rangers, 14 roaming buffalo, 6 howling wolves, 8 giant grizzly bears, 7 resting rams and 6 hikers green jackets. Each puzzle takes up two pages, and you are looking through quite a bit of scenery (which appears to be hand-drawn) to find the things I mentioned. It takes a while to complete these puzzles. If you can't find everything, don't worry, as there is an answer key in the back of the book.Making this book even better are the several pages of fun, interesting facts throughout the book. For each puzzle, there are two pages of fun and interesting facts about each location visited in the puzzles (Yellowstone, deep sea diving, the beach, camping, the carnival, a cruise, a balloon festival, etc.).This book is a lot of fun and is something you can pick up and do whenever you have a few minutes or a few hours. It's fun to do while you are watching TV or killing time. I have even taken this book with me to work on a few occasions in order to have something to do during my lunch break. I highly recommend it, as the quality of the book is great, from the puzzles to the fun fact pages to the quality of the paper used. I think this book would be great for ages 8 and up. I plan to get other "Bigfoot Seek and Find" books when I have this book completed.
I bought this for state testing -post test quiet (non-electronic) activities. I teach in Middle School and the students really enjoyed it, especially my non-readers who enjoy video game type activities - these were a hit with that bunch.
My 4 year old absolutely loves this book. We did notice that some of the items we were finding actually had more than the amount we were supposed to find. For example, it said find 10 scuba divers but we found 11. However I still give it five stars because it's that awesome.
